Loving this build - running it in season 10 and completed gr 86 today which put me in the top 200.
No in this build is all about stacking Garg Damage and making them hit like trucks with zuni proc. 50% Elite Dmage > a few dogs
Firebats is not your primary source of damage, it's only to there to benefit from the shoulders which give 25% reduced damage and +20-25% damage when channeling.
I think this is a good build, gave me a lot of toughness which I think was my problem with previous builds, at about 400M with my current gear. What I do is just kill everything in my path, because if you leave some random mob behind, chances are, it will get the attention of your pets and you'll have to return for it, regroup constantly when in open areas to corners or "choke points". When I rush it, I just spirit walk to the next elite or big pack of mobs, piranhas, soul harvest, re-cast the garg and the fetish, armor potion and the bats, hoping that SW will be ready as a panic button, did up to the grift 68 without the sacred harvester and the compass rose, after getting them I got to run grift 70 without even dying once, I haven't got the furnace yet, will attempt higher grift when RNG gives me better gear, but this is the first time I can do something like this since the Jade build with constant SW.
I don't think this build requires full ancient equipment to get to grft 70, it requires some attention to stay alive, I believe that some people just want to read about a build, copy it, expect to just run across the map melting mobs and then complain about how crappy it is.
ratel and zergy clearly just can't play the build and so they felt it was necessary to let everyone here know that.

Im kind new to Diablo 3, just did season 9 with a Barbarian and started season 10 for 2 weeks with a WD. I have been trying different builds and this one gives me the most fun! Question is, wich stats i should go for on my gear? I have exactly the same gear advised on this guide but no ancients so far. I cant figure it out..
Another point is, im around paragon lvl 500 and the best i could do until now was GR 61 in 9min. Would you say that is a reasonable time?

I like this build but in HC and without an ancient Sacred Harvester still, I find modifying it to be ranged a less risky style of play. Changes are:
- Staff of Chiroptera in cube and using Dire bats instead.
- dropped Lakumbas and Soul Harvest for CotFS and Cold Zombie Dogs to proc BotT (now that I'm out of BotT's secondary range) and have more consistent DR from Coils.
- dropped Grave Injustice and Confidence Ritual for Zombie Handler and Jungle Fortitude so I can take more hits
- was considering putting in Zuni Pox and equipping Serpent for more DR but dropping SMF, EW or CoE is too much damage loss given I've dropped confidence ritual already

I do think Coils' DR need to last 20sec after hitting an enemy with FB to make it a bit more competitive for those of us who are sick of the Sacred Havester/Lakumba/Soul Harvest combo.
I like the build except for situations when mobs flood the entrance door at the start of the Greater Rift (still happens on occasion in 2.5). With Sychophants at the minimum of 8 or none the toughness buff is minimal and you die instantly. Also, Firebats operates in mêlée range and without the toughness buff you die with Gargs are on cooldown and low toughness resulting in restarting the Rift.
