Hello guys!

A lot of my viewers / subscribers ask me how does Pig Sticker + Blood Brother performs compared to a Hack +Vo'Toyias Spiker setup...

Finally I found very good Pig Sticker so I can show you build with proper stats in action.

This is 6 piece Invoker (Pig Sticker + Blood Brother)setup.

General impressions.

Pig Sticker + Blood Brother setup does not have trash killing potential like Hack +Vo'Toyias Spiker setup, but, by keeping trash mobs alive around you for a longer duration will result in more Invoker stacks and because of that it will result in more DMG to your prime targets-elites.

What amazes me the most about this build is its survivability. This is probably the toughest solo melee build in the game(can tank arcane beams) and because of that you can be extremely aggressive-deal more DMG.

1. Attack Speed

Thorns of the Invoker set:

(2) Set bonus:

Your Thorns damage now hits all enemies in a 15 yard radius around you. Each time you hit an enemy with Punish, Slash, or block an attack your Thorns is increased by 35% for 2 seconds(one stack).

So, the idea is to collect stacks over 2 seconds.

The minimum number of stacks you will have is determined by your APS (Attack per Second) multiplied by 2(because stack will last for 2 seconds).

You can only have natural number (sometimes called whole number or counting number) of stacks.

1, 2, 3, and so on...

If you have 2.9 APS you will have minimum 5.8 Stacks(2.9*2=5.8).

But you can't have 5.8 Stacks(only whole number!!!), so you will end up with 5 Stacks.

To have 5 Stacks it is enough to have 2.5 APS (2.5*2=5).

Having 2.5 APS will result in min. 5 Stacks.

3 APS = min. 6 Stacks.

3.5 APS = min. 7 Stacks.

4 APS = min. 8 Stacks.

The best mathematical (golden)number for this build is to have 4 APS (15 fps breakpoint).

It is extremely good balance between offence and defense.

It requires 7% of Attack Speed on your weapon(Pig Sticker) and 20% on your other items.

Gloves and 2 rings are ideal for this roll (7+7+6).

Also you need to use Punish-Celerity, Fervor and have 10% Attack Speed Increase with your Paragon points to reach this breakpoint.

2. Block chance

There is an absolute cap to your Block Chance and it is 100% (it is impossible to have above 100% Block Chance).

Let say that your Justice Lantern Ring rolls with 55% (Gain damage reduction equal to 55% of your Block Chance) and your total Block chance is 100%.

This means that your damage reduction is 55%. (55% of 100% is 55%)

Also there is a soft cap or game mechanic cap on your Block Chance and it is 75%.

This means that you can block only 75% of attacks in combat.

So if your Block Chance is 75% or 100%, an Akarat's Awakening (Crusader Shield) will reduce your cooldowns with same efficiency (capped at 75%).

3.Area DMG

Area Damage doesn't work on Hack and Sanguinary Vambraces proc.

Diablo 3 rule seas that you can't trigger Area Damage out of item special effect proc.

But Area Damage is triggered from

Thorns of the Invoker set:

(2) Set bonus:

Your Thorns damage now hits all enemies in a 15 yard radius around you. Each time you hit an enemy with Punish, Slash, or block an attack your Thorns is increased by 35% for 2 seconds.

4.Crowd control

Most Crowd Control effect the targets enemies ability to attack you (slow, stun, freeze) are bad for this build.

You will and up with less survivability and damage (less stack, less CDR trough Akarat's Awakening) because enemies will not hit you. You want to be hit by monsters with this build.

There is one useful Crowd Control effect - IMMOBILIZE.

Immobilize effect will root enemies preventing them to move (move away from you)

"Immobilize (a.k.a. Root) is a form of Crowd Control. The general concept is completely stopping the target, forcing them to remain in one place, unable to move, but unlike Stun and Freeze, it does not affect the target's ability to attack."

-Diablo Wiki-

5. Follower

I GUESS NONE...
From my experience it is better to run without follower .
Follower can body block enemies in tight hallways or agro mobs to himself.
You want to be followed by enemies and to be only target for them.
You will end up with more survivability and damage without follower (you will do more damage with your thorns, more thorns stack, more AD, more Akarat's Awakening CDR proc which will allow you to spam your offensive and defensive skills more often).
Even if you are running with follower just for Oculus Ring proc, it can get tricky trying to position yourself into the Oculus Ring DMG buff and also having elites right next to you - Steed Charge "Draw and Quarter" rune can help you, but still...

6.Monsters and Rift Guardian

Big density and fast attacking mobs are good for you because of Invoker stacks, but on top of that you want Beasts and Humans.

Your Pig Sticker grants you up to 30% more DMG to the Beasts and Humans -this is global multiplier.

You want fast attacking Guardian with minions.

More time you get hit, more Invoker stacks you will have.

To kill guardian, it takes 2-3 minutes, but HAMELIN takes only 1 minute.

He has fast hitting tornado and minions.

You will have max number of Invoker stacks!

7.The Build

Stat priorities on equipment:

-Thorns as a secondary stat

-CDR %

-Attack Speed

(7% on weapon & 20% on other items)

-Life per hit

-Area DMG %

"Must-have" passive skills:

-Iron Maiden

-Fervor

-Hold Your Ground

If you are satisfied with the your survivability, you can go with:

-Provoke (Cleanse)-for agroing ranged mobs and LpH

-Bombardment (Barrels of Spikes) for aditianal DMG

-Laws of Valor (Invincible)-for higher AS and LpH

(you can go with DMG to elites on your weapon instead LpH than)

Alternative items in the cube:

Nemesis Bracers, Heart of Iron
