Core:
Always cap movement first as movement is one of your weaknesses.
Get maximum resource next to use more shield bashes.
Dump excess points in to primary stat, or some in VIT if you are desperate.
Offense:
CHD, then CHC for optimal DPS.
CDR next for defensive abilities.
IAS last.
Defense:
Standard leveling order.
Utility:
RCR first to allow more use of shield bash.
Life on Hit next to better your sustain.
Area Damage last for icing on the cake.
Build Guide
A build using the Roland's Set that I have managed to get up to GR 91 with. Hard to push lately because the rifts keep spawning such terrible layouts... Anyways, this build is probably the best damage you can get out of Rolands. Unfortunately Sweep Attack is utterly useless, it just cannot compete with Shield Bash now. Blizzard needs to rework this set still IMHO because it cannot take hits without wearing all defensive gems and String of Ears. If this build had proper damage reduction, it could compete with the Hammerdins.
EDIT: Made it to GR90 after some solid fishing, so the set is capable of going passed 90.
PROS:
Good Damage and Defense.
Speed Farm Capable.
Gives the Juggernaut affix the middle finger.
CONS:
Limited Movement Speed in GR.
Can be difficult to gear for due to RNG on shield and HF ammy.
Is forced to use defensive gems to avoid being 1-shotted in T13+.
I honestly don't know. A lot of people are saying yes, others say no. Even if it doesn't, it's still good to have max block for Blood Brother. I wanted to try this again with an ancient Flail of The Ascended and put The Furnace in the cube, but I cannot seem to get a hold of one.
I would really love to see that GR90 clear and how you managed to survive there.
I wish I could make videos... But survival wasn't too much of an issue, just combating the awful RNG on these rifts is the hard part. Someone managed GR 95 with sweepattack with the 1250% variant of Rolands, but he was an obscenely high paragon level and was praised by RNGesus with the rift he got.
95 was done on non seasons
Where have you made that 90, on ptr or live server? I can check just you on leaderboards.
PTR, not sure if I am still on there or not, they reset it often.
Can this really do gr 90 right now?
If Blizzard keeps these changes made to Rolands for patch 2.5, then with a lot of good gear and survival skills, yes it can.
