Build Guide

Offhand Weapon:

Lions Claw

Cubed Armor:

Madstone

Gems:

  • Helm: Diamond (CDR)
  • Armor/Weapons: Emeralds (Dex/CHD)

Hellfire Passives:

There are a few good options here, i suggest one of the following:

Offensive:

  • Momentum (20% additive damage for 6 sec after moving 25 yards)
  • Determination (20% additive damage when 5 mobs within 12 yards)

Defensive:

  • The Guardian's Path (35% dodge chance)
  • Resolve (20% dmg debuff)
  • The Sixth Sense (25% non-physical dmg reduction)
Important:

Do not use Mythic Rythm on this build. MR only affects manually applied EP's. MR does not affect EP's applied from Uliana's 2pc bonus or Madstone (which you are both using). Area Damage suffers from the same drawback btw, more on that explained further below.

Gear Variations:

Basically the variations here are all about the jewelry slots. Just play around and use what you like most.

The Endless Walk Set:

  • It is possible to use Traveller's Pledge/Compass Rose instead of Focus/Restraint, which basically grants a free ring slot that can be filled with for example Stone of Jordan or Avarice Band.
  • This does give you more toughness because of the dynamic dmg reduction when moving, but you will lose significant DPS since you mostly are nowhere near reaching the full 100% dmg bonus before blowing up a group of mobs.

The full U6:

  • You can run the full Ulianas Set and cube Avarice Band or Convention of Elements if you want, but you will suffer a huge toughness loss. Especially in T13 you are very squishy without the dmg reduction from the shoulders. If you find yourself in a situation where Epiphany is not up and/or you dont have full reduction stacks from the belt because of not enough hits with SSS, you pretty much get oneshot by everything.

Gem Variations:

  • Boon of the Hoarder (when using Avarice Band)
  • Bane of the Stricken (for faster RG kill)
  • Esoteric Alteration (huge toughness increase)

If you want to use one of these, replace Gogok of Swiftness.

FAQs:

Why no Area Damage???

  • Unfortunately, this build does not benefit from AD. The reason why is how Exploding Palm works. Only a manually applied EP can deal Area Damage. If an EP gets applied by your generator (through Uliana 2pc bonus) or by Madstone, it will not deal AD. This is the same issue as with Mythic Rythm where also only manual EP's can benefit from.
  • The only way to get AD to work would be to apply an EP manually and then spread it with Gungdo Gear. Gungdo Gear spreads EP's in the exact state they are. This means if Gungdo Gear spreads an AD-capable EP, all spreaded EP's are AD-capable (yes its weird^^). I tried to work that in, but for a speedbuild, there are too many drawbacks and i found it gameplaywise the best option to just get rid of AD here.

Why Seize the Initiative?

  • STI enables the fast paced Gameplay in this build. You want to minimize the time between dashing into a pack and blowing up the screen. This means getting the Assimilation stacks as fast as possible. If you really dont want to use STI you can use the Radiance rune on Dash, but i personally prefer the movement speed buff.

Rotation / Gameplay:

  • Dash into a group of mobs, preferably with an elite.
  • After dashing, immediately pull mobs together with Cyclone Strike and hold down Assimilation
  • As soon Assimilation stacks are up, press SSS and blow up the screen
  • Use Epiphany on cooldown

Notes:

  • Generally this build is designed for killing big groups fast. An elite pack should die in 1-2 blows for this build to function correctly. If your gear isnt that good and you feel killing elites takes too long, lower the difficulty to a point where you can one- or twoshot elites.
  • Try to have In-geom up for the rift guardian. The RG fight with no In-geom can be a little tricky, especially against bosses that oneshot you, like Blighter or Coldsnap for example.
