Archon Combustion

Transform into a being of pure arcane energy for 20 seconds. While in Archon form, your normal abilities are replaced by powerful Archon abilities, your damage is increased by 30%, and your Armor and resistances are increased by 150%.

Each enemy killed while in Archon form increases your damage by 6% for the remaining duration of Archon.
Combustion

An explosion erupts around you when you transform, dealing 3680% weapon damage as Fire to all enemies within 15 yards.

Archon abilities deal Fire damage instead of Arcane.
Ice Armor Crystallize

Surround yourself in a barrier of ice that reduces damage from melee attacks by 12%. Melee attackers are either Chilled or Frozen for 3 seconds. Lasts 10 minutes.

Only one Armor may be active at a time.

When you are struck by a melee attack, your Armor is increased by 20% for 30 seconds. This effect stacks up to 3 times.

Build Guide

Hey guys!

I am not a big fan of Archon, and strongly think that Archon should stay with Vyr's set, where it belongs. But unfortunately (or fortunately?), Archon itself does a lot of damage and works as a damage dealer for other sets as well.

GENERAL TIPS & GAMEPLAY:

1) Maintain at least 60% cdr (cdr on every slot possible).

2) While outside of Archon - scan the area, build chantodo/flame blades STACKS.

3) Pop archon on the very last second of COLD COE ROTATION.

4) Destroy everything during two FIRE COE ROTATIONS (be sure to Ignite Elite as first priority(it would be done pretty much automatically, but you just check if you have 20 stacks)!!!). Don't die.Repeat.

5) Try to stand in Oculus Ring as much as possible. Lure elites to you.

6) Don't fight even huge packs of trash, unless you have no other way (like.. the progress bar is almost full and there's no elites in sight). You won't be able to effectively maintain Firebird stacks outside of Archon.

7) Having three fire skills (like MW-Ignite)/igniting enemies outside of archon is pretty much pointless.

All three fire Skills for Ignite effect come from Archon + Chantodo. Each archon attack is fire with Combustion rune + when in archon, Chantodo expells FIRE Wave of Destruction (when you have FIRE skill rolled on amulet or APDs). So it's actually even 4 fire attacks. I, for example, don't even press right mouse button for Disintegration Wave at all. So it's just WOD, Fire Blast and Inferno Strike.

8) 60% CDR is needed to enter archon form again just before the "third" rotation of Fire starts. I believe this is not entirely mandatory, especially if you die/lose fire rotation once. But it is strongly suggested and is required for a "perfectly synched" gameplay (that if you play correctly, how it is supposed to be played ;)).

OFFENSIVE TIPS:

1) Bane of the Powerful instead of Gizzard

2) Force Weapon instead of Deflection.

GROUP PLAY:

Pretty much the same, except Illusionist can be dropped for Glass Cannon/Unwavering Will and Deflection to Force Weapon with BOTP gem (full DPS).

What i like about this build? It's really easy to play. I don't consider myself a good Wizard player, but managed to clear 87 with 0 augments and p1300 on second attempt. I could not do it with previous Archon Firebird build as easily. Building Orb of Infinite Depth stacks with EB and surviving without reworked Firebird damage reduction and Aquilas was much much more problematical. Now it's just as simple as popping Archon on Fire COE rotation and that's it. The damage reduction is enough to survive outside of Archon and the damage is impressive as well.

As for THIS build vs. the OROTZ+OoI+Swami build. They are performing almost the same i think, but this one is much easier to play.
