As far as the Life on hit on your weapon, it's very possible to drop this for Weapon % instead, but you'll need to fish for better rifts with this change. The Life on Hit gives you a lot of consistency, allowing you to fight potentially worse mob types.
Another option is to roll the Vitality off your bracers for Life on hit, and then going for the %damage on weapon, this is probably the most ideal set up.
CDR Gem in the helm unless you feel like you're getting 1 shot too much then life % gem.

Core
Movement Speed - Max this until you hit the 25% cap on sheet.
Intelligence - After movement speed you'll start maxing your main stat for damage and some All Resist.
Vitality - Only add Vitality if you're having issues staying alive/getting 1 shot.
Maximum Resource - Max Resource is never a good stat for this build.
Offense
Crit Damage - It's typically easier to get a lot of crit chance on gear, so go crit damage first. You always want to balance the two.
Crit Chance - Crit Chance second unless you are just overloaded with crit damage on gear but not much crit chance.
Cooldown Reduction - CDR is great for Piranhado especially, you want to me grouping mobs very tight for Area Damage.
Attack Speed - Attack Speed as a stat does NOT increase attack speed of pets for WD, but actually buffs the pets damage.
Defense
Life % - Life % first, especially if you're getting 1 shot.
Armor % - You get ALOT of Armor % from Soul Harvest but I still prefer it to All Res with how much Intelligence you have.
All Res - Intelligence gives you All Resist, so I typically max this after Armor.
Life Regen - By far the worst defensive stat, always max this last.
Utility
Area Damage - AD is working properly in 2.4.1 and pets now proc it, making AD an amazing DPS stat.
Life on Hit - Max this second for the Leeching Beasts for some nice sustain.
Resource Cost Reduction - This build doesn't use much resource but this stat is still better to max next over Gold Find.
Gold Find - No Gold dropping in GRs, obviously if you run this build in Torment, this stat gets better.
Build Guide
SKILLS
- GARGANTUAN: Humongoid
This is your main damage dealing ability, the Gargs deal massive damage and also cleave for some AoE clear. You always want to be buffing the gargs with gear, for example, Garg damage % on chest/Cold damage on bracers. The AI on the gargs isn't the greatest, the best way to maximize your damage is to recast them right in the middle of a group of mobs that you've gathered together with Piranhado.
- WALL OF DEATH: Communing with Spirits
Communing with Spirits proc's your 6 piece Helltooth and reduces incoming damage by 25% from affected enemies.
- ZOMBIE DOGS: Leeching Beasts
Most of your sustain comes from the Life per Hit from the Leechings Beasts. Getting Life Per Hit on your weapon is recommended.
- PIRANHA'S: Piranhado
Piranhado is very important to the build, paired with Grave Injustice, you're able to group mobs close together to maximize the damage from the Cleave from the Gargantuan's and also the Area damage proc'ing from the pets.
- SOUL HARVEST: Languish
Languish is pretty mandatory to stay alive, paired with the Soul Harvester and Lakumbra's Ornament, you're getting 100% armor, 60% damage reduction, as well as 30% more Intelligence.
-SPIRIT WALK: Jaunt
This will save you against nasty champion and elite affixes as well as give you a bit of movement speed when moving inbetween groups of enemies.
PASSIVES
- MIDNIGHT FEAST
Midnight Feast is mostly to buff the damage of the Gargs but it also buffs the damage of the Zombie Dogs, as well as gives you 1 extra zombie dog.
- SPIRIT VESSEL
Spirit Vessel for a second life, the higher you go in solo GRIFTS, the more needed this is.
- GRAVE INJUSTICE
GI is mainly to reduce the cooldowns of Piranhado/Spirit Walk which will keep you alive. You also get more slows out of Soul Harvest Languish and Wall of Death.
- CONFIDENCE RITUAL/PIERCE THE VEIL
Either of these is fine. Confidence Ritual will give you more damage, but you have to be in melee range basically. Pierce gives you less damage but you're able to stay out of harms way.
And yea, if you have some great Taskers, you can totally cube the Jeram. Getting Taskers with Area Damage/crit damage/crit chance is pretty rough, though.
ive been using an In-Geom as a replacement for the furnace until i get one, might not be the best but its insanely fun
Is this build viable for groups in high GRs. I recognize the build lists it as a "Solo" build. Just wondering if i just need to gear as ZDOC to be viable in high GR groups.
yes
How come Area damage is first prio on shoulders but last on offhand? Should I roll for AD on both or Gargantuan?
Ideally you want AD and Gargantuan on both, but if you can only choose one I think Gargantuan damage would be generally better. AD is amazing, but it's also more reliant on density. I might be wrong though.
ok i love the build but i cannot get taskers to drop no matter that i do. i have been running blood shards and working it via the cube but had no luck. is there something in its place that i can use till i get better RNG?
You could run Helltooth and drop the RoRG for a CoE maybe.Nevermind, forgot about Jeram.Took a 81 two days ago (without any Caldesan upgrade) with a little changes from build
Esoteric instead of BotS
Swampland passive instead of Spirit Vessel
(facetanked all the things, lol)
But GRift bossfight without BotS is a pain and hell =\
NIce build and tutorial, very complete bud, very thanks
