I have never been a fan of the Crusader until season 5 where the Invoker Set was introduced, now I never play anything else. I love the fact that Thorns finally has a purpose.
In this build, I will not go into much detail other than some do's and don't's.
I have highlighted the most important text in WHITE so that you won't have to deal with all my mumble bumble.
Here is a good link to a Reddit thread on the Invoker Set interactions.
This guide is not ment to be the go to guide for Invoker Crusader. It's merely a guide for the basics.

Blood Brother will get your Block Chance up to 100%! And when you Block an enemy attack your next attack will do 30% more damage! Could also be The Furnance if you want the 50% Elite Damage
Aquila Cuirass is great while above 50% Resource you will take 50% less damage, since you will not be spending any Resource you are always taking the 50% less damage. Could also be Heart of Iron for 300% of Vitality to Thorns, but it depends on the roll I must say.
Convention of Elements (CoE) is amazing while its on Physical, your Thorns, Consecration, Bombardment, Steed Charge and Punish/Slash will 200% more damage to enemies for 4 seconds.
Boyarsky's Chip is probably the best Legendary Gem for you, the extra Thorns damage is always nice to have. And at Rank 25 the first enemy hit by your Primary Skill is taunted for 2 seconds, which is kinda meh.
Bane of the Stricken is great, the Percent extra damage taken by the enemy, done by your attacks stacks. And at Rank 25 you do 25% extra damage to Rift Guardians so you can get that sweet time on the Leaderboards.
Invigorating Gemstone is also great, while under Crowd Control you'll take less damage at Rank 50 (Max) you'll take 50% less damage, At Rank 25 you will be healed 20% of your max health each time you are hit by a Crowd Control.

Movement Speed > Primary Stat > Vitality > Maximum Resource
Spend Paragon Points in Movement Speed first as Moving Faster = Faster Rift Times.
Dump the rest of your Paragon Points in Primary Stat as it affects your Thorns and Attack Damage.
You wont need to put any Paragon Points into Maximum Resource, as you wont be using it on any skills in this build
Attack Speed > Cooldown Reduction > Critical Hit Chance > Critical Hit Damage
Max Attack Speed first, you are using your Basic Attack a lot when your other skills are on Cooldown and it stacks up your Boyarsky's Chip, so might as well get as many attacks out as possible
Maxing Cooldown Reduction is good for getting your skills off Cooldown faster as your main skills has a somewhat long Cooldown.
Max Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage last. They won't do you any good because your Thorns don't trigger Critical Strikes as written in the link above and your Basic Attacks are too weak to benefit from it.
Resist All > Armor > Life Regeneration > Life
There's not much to say about defense as most of it is self-explanatory.
Just max out your Resist All first as it reduces Elemental Damage.
Max Armor second as it reduces Physical Damage from Melee and Ranged monsters.
Life Regeneration and Life are Self-Explanatory.
Area Damage > Life on Hit > Gold Find > Resource Cost Reduction
Max Area Damage first as Consecration, Bombardment, Steed Charge and Punish/Slash triggers it. There is somewhat a confusion over whether or not Thorns triggers Area Damage, though many are certain that without the Two-Piece Set Bonus it won't.
Life on Hit and Gold Find are Self-Explanatory.
Max Resource Cost Reduction last as stated above you aren't going to use any skill that requires spending Resource.
Iron Skin > Consecration > Bombardment > Punish
Wait for Physical CoE proc and use this rotation to maximize your Damage Output.
Use Law of Justice and Akkarat's Champion for sustain.
