Build Guide

The point of this build is to successfully finish solo Greater Rift 45 without any set items equipped in order to achieve "The Thrill" Conquest for Season 5.

Gameplay revolves around building stacks from Greenstone to amplify the damage of Fan of Knives during the bonus lightning damage from Convection of Elements then seeking out Elite / Champion packs to one shot them.

Sharpshooter passive builds critical hit chance so that when unleashing Fan of Knives, it's a guaranteed critical hit boosted by critical hit damage. Convection of Elements rotates to lightning damage every 16 seconds, allowing Sharpshooter to build a bonus 64% critical hit chance. The base 5% chance and the additional 5% from Paragon means you will need an absolute minimum of 26% critical hit chance from gear for optimal performance.

It is important to not use any other attacks between uses of Fan of Knives in order to preserve Sharpshooter stacks.

Since you will only be using an ability once every 16 seconds, hatred is not a factor, allowing you to innately slot the Dark Heart rune for Vengeance for a permanent 50% damage reduction. Visage of Gunes not being cubed opens up the use of Leoric's Crown for a total of 25% cooldown reduction from just the helmet. Be sure to still obtain a total of around 37% cooldown reduction for 100% uptime of Vengeance.

Illusory Boots is required for this build as it allows you to pass through enemies without a problem for perfect positioning. Vault isn't being used as the rockets from Vengeance can critically strike, using your Sharpshooter stacks. Due to limited mobility without vault, Tactical Advantage is highly recommended, but it may be replaced with Cull the Weak if you wish to squeeze out a little more damage.

Hellfire Amulet is very easy to obtain, so it's recommended to have Cull the Weak or Tactical Advantage on it, whichever you choose to drop from the core build. Eye of Etlich works very well in increasing survivability and is a valid replacement in the amulet slot.

Pauldrons of the Skeleton king, Elusive Ring, and St. Archew's Gage all increase the survivability of this build, but can be replaced by any item with good stats. Similarly, Aquila Cuirass is highly recommended since you will not be using your primary resource, but any torso item with high stats can replace it. Nemesis Bracers are not required, but help speed up finding groups of Elites, which are the targets of this build.

Stone of Jordan should be used when possible due to having elemental damage AND a very large increase of damage against Elites. This ring should have Lightning Damage, a socket, damage versus elites, and critical hit damage.

HOW TO PLAY:

Hunt down groups of Elites and Champions and basically ignore everything else.

When you find your target: cluster the enemies together, place down Caltrops for the CHC bonus, then use Fan of Knives. This should only be done during your lightning phase in Convection of Elements and WHILE MOVING. Do not stop moving when you cast Fan of Knives or you will not benefit from Hexing Pants. Proper use of abilities will kill elites and champions with just one cast.

Moving between targets should be easy and safe with Illusory Boots and all of the defensive bonuses you get from your skills and items. If you need a boost of speed, use Shadow Power (with your passive, Tactical Advantage). With adequate cooldown reduction and meticulous use of Preparation, Shadow Power can be active almost all the time.
