Build Guide
This build is part of The Ultimate Guide for Patch 2.4.1- Season 6, with all the new builds for all classes, you can see the spreadsheet here:
If you have any questions about the Skill-, Gear-, Stat-choices or anything about the build. Then feel free to follow my stream and get answers to all your questions live on stream:
This build will be kept as much up-to-date as possible by Drahque, and check the guide for d3planner simulations, youtube guides and more.
Have they fixed area damage for patch 2.4?
Why is Heaven's Fury in this build? What am I missing?
I not understand much good, this build can only group, or work good in solo too?
hey what gem goes on socket on helm
This build is pretty crappy, not sure why this is so highly rated. Heavens fury with LON does like 200m a tick, item procs do 350-500m a proc, when you're already hitting for several billion these dont even matter.
Heavens fury should be steed charge rejuvenation, shoulders should be pauldrons of the skeleton king, helm should be leorics crown, bracers should be lacuni prowlers or steady strikers, akkhan should be cubed.
I actually enjoy this build quite a lot but a quick question, is pain enhancer really that good for this build? or would gem of gem of efficacious toxin be better?
Quick note, I found that using cord of the sherma (cubed) to be very useful cause of that 4 second field thingy that works great with bane of the trapped.
Replace Heaven's Fury with Shield Glare - Divine Verdict. It gets a cool down bonus from the Towering Shield passive that you've already got, gives some nice crowd control, and adds a damage bonus. I've been using this to great effect to shut down heavy hitters and particularly frustrating mobs. What Ganom says about Heaven's Fury is accurate, the damage it adds is negligible compared to what you're pumping out with Blessed Shield.
All in all though, this is the most fun build I've been using so far. I just love this pumped up Blessed Shield!
any update on this build and where its at?
How do you stay alive at GR90? Good build, but I had to trade CoE in the cube for Unity and still die a lot at GR 68. You will be one-shotted at anything higher than GR 70
Not a best build for solo, but you can do pretty good AoE DMG with supps like WD or Bard.
Doesn't use Holy Cause.. RIP this build lol..
I am currently running this build and while my gear is far from optimal, the general direction needs to be a tad more defensive. I have tried lots of things and here is a short list of what I have tried/will try/didntwork/worked out:
* Heavens Fury is obviously shit here, so we use Shield Glare(Subdue) or Steed Charge(Rejuvenation). The latter sucks big time, so Shield Glare it is, although we sacrifice mobility.
* Illusory Boots is nice, Ice Climbers is better.
* Pauldrons of the Skeleton King can really help.
* CDR on gear is surprisingly powerful.
* Going for double Unity on followers costs way too much DPS and didn't help that much. Dont expect too much from that.
Next two ideas:
* Replace Bane of the Stricken with Esoteric Alteration (probably good idea).
* Replace Long Arm of the Law with Holy Cause: damage vs self heal. (probably bad idea).
edit
I put all my info and progress in a build for easy readability. It is far from finished thou. Drahaques build is just for optimizing raw dps in a perfect group environment. I would like to make this build viable under less extreme circumstances. I have compiled all information and improvements found so far here: http://www.diablofans.com/builds/71355-lon-blessed-shield-solo-viable-version (work in progress)
Just cleared GR71 solo with slightly modified version of the build (14:19 with 5 deaths). Definitely one of the most fun build so far although most of the slots I have are not optimised for now.
I swapped Heaven's Fury with Shield Glare - Uncertainty. The CD is low enough with towering shield passive, adds in the Charmed effect, that gives a huge buff to survivability even towards elites.
I dropped judgment for steed charge for more mobility
Picked Holy Cause for passive over Law, Vigilant over Finery. There's a slight DPS dip for dropping finery, but that 20% elemental damage reduction helps in 70+. 5th passive = indestructible.
I don't think switching out stricken helps much as RG hp scales way too high to bring it down in time w/o this gem. I might test swapping out PE and see how things go though.
String of Ears look like a must in 70+, as so far dps is not a huge issue but survivability in solo.
well, pain enh really helps for the attack speed buff. I think it's a must have gem for this build.
Finally got my ancient chest for the build, far from perfect items still but 12/13 Ancient items and 1.8m sheet dps (close to 3m with CDs) really makes it fun. GR 70 is for sure going down today, like others have said survival can be tough when solo. In 4 man groups though you really shine like the magnificent beast you'll end up being with this build!
I personally dont like the towering shield passive unless your going to run shield glare. The 20% is skiill damage so say you have 200% blessed shield dam on your jekangbord and 15% on your boots for 215% total towering shield will make it 235% blessed shield damage 200 +15+20. Much rather take Holy Cause, Finery, Fervor indestructible(i like not dieing) . 5th passive i havent really settled on still playing around with Hold Your Ground might swap it out for something more defensive like Vigilant or maybe Towering Shield if i run Shield Glare for the CC.
I cleared a 75 with a variation of this string over witching laws hope judge debilitate horse over heavens
I'm not seeing were a 90 solo is gunna happen I get globaled at 75 if I slip a second
it works and it's fun but I got a couple luck pylons
I'm at 1664k 164m 15m unbuffered for reference on ps4
Any updates on this build? Sounds like fun and is interesting, but need it to be at least GR 70-75 viable
this build is glass canon max DPS, see http://www.diablofans.com/builds/73423-lon-blessed-shield-solo-optimized-g75-80for solo variation of this.
Akkhan's Leniency equiped and Foote in Cube is better DPS at high gear levels (which you've theorycrafted for)
