Am I missing something ? This looked so promising until I realized that there is no generator or spines of seething hatred. And why are ancient parthan defenders in this build ? none of your abilities stun or freeze except for zei's proc's, which are usually ranged and not within the required 25 yards. back to the drawing board lol. What would work is the new endless walk set and dump focus/restraint.
not sure about his D3planner simulations, but from what I tested this setup should use Endless Walk + CoE + Elusive Ring (or oculus for solo)
and then the resource gen for the group variation comes from the solanium globe barb and blood vengeance
APD proc from group crowd controls and such and yes, like I said above pretty sure it's meant to be EWIn group you have the globe barb for hatred through blood vengeance, so you shouldn't need seethe, but you are exactly right about dawn in hand and sword in cube, that's the first thing I noticed when optimizing the build
So this build only works if you have a globe barb in the group?
Aquila Cuirass is a trap on M6 + Zoey's. You'll get roughly the same amount of toughness out of Cloak of the Garwulf, with guaranteed 100% uptime and a bit of extra damage attached. (Aquila + Dark Heart + M6 Zoeys is 50% + 50% + 63%, total 90.75% reduction without armor/resists. Dark Heart + M6 Garwulf Zoeys is 50 + 81%, total 90.5% reduction without armor/resists).
Another superior alternative would be to cube Gunes and switch your Vengeance rune to Seethe, making you less tanky but also not dependent on someone else to generate all your resources for you.
If you want to be super duper tanky and independent, use a RoRG and do both.
Sure, with a minimum roll on Zoey's you're going to have slightly worse mitigation when Aquila is up - however, you're pretty unlikely to maintain 100% uptime on Aquila, which will not only drag the average mitigation over time down, but expose you to huge damage spikes when you suddenly lose half your toughness for brief moments. Garwulf is more than worth the consistency even without the 3-7% damage increase.
Agreeing with darkstar on hatred issues for this build. You need seethe to keep it topped up, so you might as well just go with Gunes in the cube. I like the suggestion for the extra wolf too. Don't forget the value of having more pets to distract the mobs as well!
Instant solution to Hatred issues is Spines of Seething Hatred and putting Seething on Vengeance, but then you must replace Aquila Cuirass with Visage of Gunes in the armor slot in your cube to get the Dark Heart rune as well. Also Dawn is a necessity so it can't be replaced and so is Sword of Ill Will, so you're pretty much forced to choose between Bombardier's Rucksack and Spines of Seething Hatred. Here's the thing though, You don't need both Seethe on Vengeance and Spines of Seething Hatred at the same time as that would mean your Hatred is pretty much never being used except on Sentries. So thinking about it it's either sacrifice the Aquila Cuirass durability or the extra 2 Sentries. I personally will take the Sentries hands down but it's really personal preference in the end. The only other gripe I have with this build is the lack of CC especially when using stuff such as Ancient Parthan Defenders, Bane of the Trapped, and Cull the Weak. In order to get that CC you must further lower durability and switch out Guardian Turret on your Sentries for Polar Station. Odd however that the video has all these changes I would make to the build, but the written was updated 5 days ago... Only thing I like more in the written guide over the video is taking M4D instead of Caltrops.
Ok look. I understand where you are coming from but this build is a GROUP build. Look at it like the energy twister wiz, you use ancient parthan defenders even though you dont have anything that stuns enemies. This is because most of the time when your in a group you have a class/build that stuns enemies. As for the focus and restraint. He isn't using it. He is using the endless walk set which is amazing and he is using elusive ring. Plus he is using blood vengeance which acts like Reaper Wraps, therefor not needing a generator, the reason why this works is because most groups have something called a globe barb or a globe monk. This helps out builds like the energy twister wiz and this build as well. Also you should have assumed it was a group build since it was purely based off Blood Vengeance.
Anyone actually think IAS on weapon instead of DMG% would be better? Basically we just pretty much spam chakrams like a dart doctor shooting darts and the sentries are our pets like the WD fetishes.
Or better yet have both dmg and IAS!
You don't want TOO much IAS, as SoIW benefits from having more Hatred stored up, and IAS would have you spending hatred faster than you can regenerate it, even with Vengeance up.
