Build Guide
new video of an 84 clear in non season on live servers
Hi all,
This is my first ever build creation on Diablofans.com.
Helltooth Gargantua build is probably the most easiest build you can make for the upcoming 2.4 patch. There are so many varieties in respect to the items you can wear. With this particular build I have managed to clear 80 and I think it has potential to clear up to 82, but not higher. At 82+ gargantua's toughness becomes an issue and they die fairly quickly to mobs such as punishers, death maidens, tremors, executioners and etc. In other words mobs who can insta proc us (WDs).
I have cleared 79 GR on the same day I cleared 80 with a stone of jordan, conventions of elements in the cube and mask of the jeram in the cube as well. Taskers are not mandatory to this build, though they do help.
Items:
BRACERS: Lakumba's Ornament
AMULET: Hellfire amulet - If you are going with a hellfire amulet option then I would advise you to have Pierce The Veil passive as the 5th. Confidence Ritual will provide you with more dmg but it's a lot trickier to work with it when you have pets that deal the dmg for you. There will be a lot of nasty affixes that will prevent you from staying too close to the monsters to get 20 radius of Confidence Ritual and hence gain that 25% increased dmg. However, with Pierce The Veil you get 20% increased additive dmg throughout the entire rift and when fighting the Rift Guardian (RG).
If you look at the video there are some issues with pets blocking mobs or not attacking the right ones. You will have to time your recasts and make sure that you don't die instantly from an elite's affix or any other mob.
Don't forget to activate the 6pc set bonus of Helltooth by casting Wall of Death.
Another important factor in this build is Area Damage %. When your group mobs with Pirhanas this will activate the Area Dmg for your Gargantua's, therefore making them hit harder than ever.
This is a fairly fun build to play and will go up to 82. Hope you will enjoy this little guide and the video pretty much shows you the playstyle of this particular build.

Amazing build, very easy to play and powerful, with almost no requirements for 2.4 itens. Thank you very much.
Is lag much of a worry with the HT pet builds?
Tried this build yesterday with a very basic stuff (not full ancient, without using the new kanai legendary gems forge) and it cleans 70+ easily.
The only downside is that there is near to zero skill needed to play the build. But hey, we're in Diablo !!! We're not here for the skillzz
I ran out of time on GR66, i just dont understand how people do so high :/
Awesome build for 2.4 patch. Two questions though can you explain the reason behind giving to attack speed on paragon ? Does pets use attack speed maybe that ? And second one is for head I use The Grin Reaper helmet. It seems so good that " Chance when attacking to summon horrific Mimics that cast some of your equipped skills." They constantly spam another wall of death or piranhas. Can you give your thought about that ? Is Jeram still much more better ? Thanks in advance. First time started playing WD for season 5 and this build rocks ! +1
Nice guide!
I just have one question, for some reason i cant drop a furnace, do you have any recomendations on the backup?
What do you think of the Uhkapian Serpent? I have a near perfect ancient one. But I also have a good non-ancient Henri's Perquistion. I feel like its probably better to use the Henri's even though its a toughness/sheet dmg loss because 30% damage to dogs I feel is kinda huge. Think they would die too quick. Whats your thoughts on this? Would it be better for me to use Ancient Serpents until I get an Ancient Henri's?
Thanks in-advance
Have you ever tried Cord of the Sherma? The amount of crowd control is amazing!
Out of curiosity about a few things:
- Why not Pierce the Veil? It's a 20% damage upgrade for practically no penalty since Piranhado is your only mana-spender.
- Why Spirit Vessel and not, say, Fierce Loyalty/Zombie Handler? +1 dog (more damage+LoH) and 15-30% mvt speed/20% life IMO is better than SV, assuming you know when you're going to die.
- Spirit Walk: Jaunt vs Severance argument?
- Regarding Paragons, why AS as #1 for Offense?
Why Witching hour? Isn't the belt which summons fetishes when you cast mana spells better?
How do you break doors in closed rifts lol. I keep getting stuck on the doors having to use wall of death to destroy it.
I found that using Fetish Sycopaths instead of Spirit Vessel (passive slot) worked better for me but overall an amazing and simple build to use. Keep in mind I'm only paragon 200 ish at the moment and I've only reached greater rift 29 so far.
