Build Guide
6 pieces of Akkhan's set and 2 pieces of invoker set mixed up together.
This is the build I'am currently experimenting with on PTR.
The idea is to mix invoker's 2 pc bonus with akkhan's 6 pieces. This way we can have strong thorns damage with new akkhan's 400% multiplier.
Stat priorities:
Get ur block as high as possible. Block gives you strong defense through new legendary power on ring "Justice lantern". Block also increases your damage due to 2pc invoker when you block attack.
After that you should focus on CDR, IAS and then vit.
Thorn's can't crit. Weapon damage is also not important (it isn't calculated for thorns damage). You should try to get thorn's damage secondary on every item possible, especially on all akkhan's pieces.
Thorn's do physical damage, so you should aim for that on neck and wrists.
Kanai's Cube:
As long as heaven's fury blessed ground isn't nerfed, the best option for weapon slot will be "Fate of the fell" (apparently new shield works only on heaven's fury damage portion, so it won't help here). You can also use "Vo toyia's spiker" for additional thorns multiplier, but then you will need to put provoke on your bars.
For armor slot we have to use "Aquila Cuirass" for higher gr-s. "Heart of iron" is also an option, but in reality it doesnt give that much of damage and huge damage reduction is just needed for any thorns build.
Gems:
Last legendary gem should be new thorns gem ofcourse. Stricken might be replaced with bane of the trapped but then you might get trouble to kill rift guardians that doesn't spawn adds.
For other gems you should use all res gems. In your weapon you should put new thorns damage gem ofcourse. For head cdr gem is the best option.
Skills:
Heaven's Fury - currently on PTR damage done by this skill procs hack legendary, this is your main damage source
Slash - this skill is used to buff your damage through 2 invoker pieces. It's not at strong as block, but its still decent especially if there's not enough mobs around you. You can also use Punish with celerity rune. Its more like personal preference.
Steed charge - nightmare procs hack. Optionally you can use Falling sword superheated with "Sacred harness" belt but seems steed charge is better.
Iron skin - with thorns rune this skill has also pretty strong offensive value now
Laws of justice - defensive tool
Akarat's Champion - defense and offense, and 4 pc akhan makes it permanent
Gameplay:
Pop your akarat's, charge into pack of mobs with steed, fire heaven's fury and iron skin and start slashing. Use horse to move from danger and to put more fire on the ground.
Closing remarks:
Without 4pc invoker's bonus, this build is very squishy, so we need to have additional defensive options to survive high gr-s. That's why i choosen "Laws of justice" and "string of ears" belt.
Heaven's fury "Blessed ground" rune is op atm, so it might not be viable after nerfs that will prolly come.
Main thorn's source in this and any thorns build is the new gem, so be sure that you level it first.
I closed gr 86 with this build so far, with only level 40 thorns gem, without any additional stats from new cube recipe.
This is PTR build so things might change.

Falling sword is escape and damage reduction tool, still testing it, you can go with horse and string of ears too, dunno what will be better atm.
It will be more than 60k thorns from heart of iron, if you include new cube recipe.
Though vit is more valuable than str, but seems i was wrong. I did some calculations and looks like str outperforms vit. Vit is still good for toughness tho.
If you are right about shield of fury, then id prolly go fate of the fell, will test it.
Updated build a bit.
I swapped to punish already, but i think its more like personal preference. Slash is bit easier to manage because of bigger range.
Aquilas might be way to go at the end of the day. So far i did 79 with this build and it wasn't needed.
Agree that heaven's fury is very strong with hack, but i think they won't nerf heavens fury, they just change hack. It's not only heaven's fury that is procing hack. So far seems blessed hammers and falling sword superheated also procs hack.
Ofcourse not, but it procs hack, same as steed charge nightmare, or firewalkers.
Firewalkers + steed charge nightmare are so funny on t10
