Build Guide
Hey boyz! Season One & Two - Rank 1 monk (world) here!
In my opinion/experience this build is currently one of the strongest possible monk setups for competitive group greater rift laddering & XP farming.
Please note: I always keep my diablo fans guides up to date and will be making adjustments to the guide whenever there is a shift in endgame meta! so be sure to check back, and vote on the guide!

Basic game-play strategy:
- Use Breath of heaven on CD
- Use Dash on a monster every 4 seconds
- Apply/Maintain static Discharge debuff on monsters with FoT
- Attack with WoTF during static discharge debuff (only in AoE, otherwise just attack with FoT)
- Use serenity when required
Skill variations:
- Mystic Ally - Air Ally (it procs static charge quite a lot, best for max DPS - if playing with a SWK monk that already has transgression)
- Mystic Ally - Earth Ally (if you are having trouble surviving - if playing with a SWK monk that already has transgression)
- Serenity - Unwelcome Disturbance (it procs static charge quite alot, best for max DPS)
- Epiphany - Desert Shroud (if you don't like serenity)
Legendary Gem variations:
- Pain Enhancer - Swap out Bane of the stricken if you are skipping RG's or Playing with a Dart WD or playing Non-season.
Hellfire Passive/Passive variations in order of power:
- Exalted Soul (Max DPS)
- Near Death Experience (not recommended, good for HC)
Stat Priority:
- Helm: Socket>30% Lightning>Crit
- Shoulders: CDR
- Torso: x3 Sockets>15% Life
- Legs: x2 Sockets
- Gloves: Crit>CHD>Vit
- Rings: Socket>AtkSpd>Crit>Dmg Range>CHD
- Waist: 15% Life>15% FoT Dmg
- Wrist: 20% Lightning damage>Crit
- Boots: 12% Movement speed
- Amulet: Socket>20% Lightning damage>Crit>ChD
- Weapon: Vit>10% Damage
you want dex/secondary resist on all your pieces(where possible)
People WITHOUT shenlongs fists:
Do not attempt the build without shenlongs set (you will do virtually no damage)

So, Quin, does the dream setup for pushing is something like: sunwuko (ep) monk, heal monk and 2 static charge monks?
No, you need a support barb aswell for defensive buffs and density manipulation.
Personally, if you have enough CDR. I'd go for the 2 piece Inna's so you get the extra mantra bonus. Since the 2 piece for Rainment is "meh"
Static Charge Solo Monk Build ?
im pretty sure you are using the 4 piece set to proc focus and restraint.
You need the 4 piece cause you're going to get stuck in the mobs without any CDR for dashing strike. Not to mention won't be able to proc restraint.
My question is: What are the best comps for this build? Is it SWK, Heal, and Zbarb? Could this work well in a 3man Hota & heal setup or would dbl Hota be better?
Just finished a 64 NS in time with this build. I used Gogok instead of stricken ~
My question is for bosses why do you use only Fist of thunder? the proc for it doesn't do anything on a singular target BUT the proc from the Way of the Hundred fists" stacks continuously.
He never claimed the build as his own, and if you watch the video he literally gives credits in the first 20 seconds.
How would you modify this build for solo play?
I practiced this build in some T10s first and then ran between 5-7 level 65 greater rifts. In my opinion it's a very difficult build to master and sometimes just flat out sucks to play. It requires constant micromanagement of static charge application and guesswork on how many is good enough.
Could I get some comments on how everyone else likes to apply the initial static charges? How many targets? Are you holding down the button and just moving your mouse to different targets? Holding down static charge and left clicking to approach a new target? After all my practice runs I still hadn't decided on the best way to technically perform the rotation. All comments appreciated.
Well news flash, someone reached grift 73 on solo monk leaderboards with this shocky build, and the status on his items even have room for improvement. Build is almost the same, but he used Mantra of Salvation (Agility) and Epiphany (Desert Shroud). And change %damage on both fists by Life per Hit.
Here's a question.
For non-season, shouldn't swiftness be better than pain enhancer? Or am I missing something here?
WIth all honesty, non-seasonal D3 doesn't exist anymore...
Being I play this on PS4 what are some changes that I can make to use this fantastic build.
Thanks
what is funny is no one is using the spirit regen ring. Why ?
Well, I play non-season lol
Why Movement speed on boots?
50 Paragon points into it and you're at your softcap... I was under the impression that movement speed on items was a waste, so why is it a priority on the boots? I know Harmony passive, but surely 150ish Dex isn't worth something like All Resist.
Hi all!
I would to ask about some important thing: how much Attack speed i must to have UNBUFFED? Like u just now entered the game - how much attack speed i must to see in my profile?
Some peoples told me to have 1.9 unbuffed but in stat list of QuinMonk i saw 1.75 (+10% atack speed from mantra, he didnt return skill)
