Happily there are not billions of paragon levels required to make this build working. By the point you actually got the gear, you will be miles ahead to what you need at the minimum.

Core

Max out Movement Speed to 25 % and increase your mainstat from that point on.

Offense

You will need 4 % Attack Speed, if you have max rolls (7 %) on your Obsidian Ring and your Bul Kathos Weapons. Following, you want to max CDR, then Critical Hit Chance followed by Critical Hit Damage.

Defense

Resist All > Life % > Armor > Life Regeneration

Utility

Area Damage > Resource Cost Reduction > Life on Hit > Gold Find

Build Guide

Hey there,

happy to present my version of the 6WW/2BK + ORotZ build. It departs from the classic "get as much CDR as possible build" and turned out to be a really strong setup. Although this is not the reinvention of the wheel, this build offers some new ideas and a little deviation from the standard gameplay as well.

To underline how strong this build is, I have uploaded a video, clearing a greater Rift 53 in less than 10 minutes. In the video, I also talk about the reasons for my decisions, including the pros and cons of common alternatives. Furthermore there is a detailed, probably more entertaining description of the entire build included.

Gear

Gear choices are pretty much predetermined. You unavoidably need to run 6 Piece Wastes, 2 Piece Bul Kathos and the Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac. I made good progress using Pride of Cassius and Reaper's Wraps, but there might be other options. Stat priorities are displayed in the Item overview above.

What's new about this build?

The special aspect about this build is that you're not going for CDR on your weapons but IAS. With IAS on Weapons + Gogok + 7 % IAS on your Obsidian Ring + 4 % IAS in Paragon, you exactly hit the 6.66 Dust Devils Breakpoint (26% IAS on gear required for this, if you have IAS on Weapons + WotB/Gogok up). This breakpoint goes in hand with the 10.00 WW Breakpoint, providing lots of hits, proccing your ring and reducing your cooldowns in a comparable amount to CDR rolls on your weapons. The advantage? More IAS does not only mean more proccs/less cooldown but also more damage. You do not even need a high dense rift for this to work. As you can see in the video, I manage to keep up my Berserker 100 % of the time while fighting against the Riftguardian.

The second variation from the standard build is Rend. Rend has no cooldown and is an additional source of dmg plus it will also increase the dmg of your WW/Dust Devils by another 10%, if you use Mutilate. Therefore Rend is a viable alternative to Threatening Shout/Overpower in my opinion. For those of you who don't like playing Whirlwind on your left mousebutton, this might be another argument, even though it's only about personal preferences. Just make sure to only apply rend in situation that allow you to interrupt whirlwinding.

Concerning gameplay, you should make sure to have Warcry and Battlerage up at all times without recasting them as long as they are still active
(exception for Warcry during bossfights to regen fury). Their cooldowns would be reduced by your ORotZ aswell, slowing down the cooldowns of Ignore Pain and Wrath of the Berserker.

Ignore Pain isn't needed all the time, make sure to only use it if you are really under fire. If you are struggling with a nasty pack or huge trash packs though, this build still offers enough CDR to keep Ignore Pain and Wrath of the Berserker up simultaneously.

Taeguk and Bane of the Trapped are not debateable for WW Builds. Both gems are literally boosting your damage without paying attention to it. Gogok becomes kind of mandatory either, because you do not only gain 15% CDR but also 15 % increased attack speed which allows you to hit a high breakpoint, while keeping toughness stats on Gloves/Belt.

I cleared a greater rift 55 in ~12min40 so far with this exact build and there is obviously room for improvement .

Let me know, what you think of this. Thanks for reading!
