NOTE : all adequate items above are either cuz you dont have the recommended/required one or for T6 speedrifts.

I will start with every piece of item. and alternatives :

Helm : You probably wanna go for a "Wastes" helm. HOWEVER. since we can pick and chose with this slot we can do for the 3rd immortal king setbonus (4), you could use a ancient version of the immortal king.

Shoulders : "wastes" Shoulders. you have nothing else to use here because immortal king does not have this particular item piece. alternatives just use whatever has a high toughness count.

Torso : You probably wanna go for a "Wastes" Chestpiece. HOWEVER. since we can pick and chose with this slot we can do for the 3rd immortal king setbonus (4), you could use a ancient version of the immortal king.

Hands : You probably wanna go for a "Wastes" Gaunlets. HOWEVER. since we can pick and chose with this slot we can do for the 3rd immortal king setbonus (4), you could use a ancient version of the immortal king.

Pants : You probably wanna go for a "Wastes" Pants. HOWEVER. since we can pick and chose with this slot we can do for the 3rd immortal king setbonus (4), you could use a ancient version of the immortal king.

Belt : "Immortal King'" Shoulders. you have nothing else to use here because "wastes" does not have this particular item piece. alternatives just use whatever has a high toughness count. (or goldwrap in t6 for immortality. prob unnecesary.)

Feet : You probably wanna go for a "Wastes" Boots. HOWEVER. since we can pick and chose with this slot we can do for the 3rd immortal king setbonus (4), you could use a ancient version of the immortal king.

Wrists : Lacuni prowlers is most likely the best choice here. because you dont have to sacrifice vitality like the steady strikers. slave bonds is also good for you.

Amulet : I strongly recommend Hellfire Amulet. Why? 5th passive for the win. ideally one of the above. where you could either pick ruthless or any other passive that benefits you. its really good. (can roll bad alot of times. be prepared to do them alot)

Rings : RoRG and unity for solo. no other way. in 2-4 player rifts stone of jordan is a good alternative. if you dont have this go for skull grasp. or any other good ring.

Weapon : Immortal kings for solo grifts. nothing else. Bulkathos is for speedrifts. nothing else. (or just as a alternative before u have IK boulder breaker)

options. i love this. BTW 5 pieces of the Wastes set is REQUIRED.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Now that we covered the Items u need, lets go over the passives :

Rampage : Yes this is kinda tricky. at the guardian u probably can lose these stacks. but most of the bosses spawn some adds so you can benefit from it again. i strongly recommend this because you can get 25% str throughout the greater rift. it helps clear faster.

Superstition : why? 20% dmg reduction AND chance for 2 fury. yea get this. (in t6 u probably wont need this)

Unforgiving : 2 fury in 1 second all the time. i like this one. if combined with the wind shear from whirlwind its a very nice fury generation.

Brawler : the entire rift is always 3+ mobs. so yea get this. its to good to pass off.

_____

Alternatives and might be better for you! (Maybe for 5th passive addiction from hellfire )

Animosity : hmm, i guess this is alright to have. doesnt compare to the others.

Ruthless : this is nice for 5th passive. because you just deal alot more dmg to those mobs below that particular % hp.

Boon of bul-kathos : This is quite problematic. since people will not be able to entirely reset CD of wrath for next one. (but there is a workaround!)

Weapons master : Yea, this is basically another version of unforgiving except in hit form. this might be better. but i am not entirely sure.

Relentless : I love this passive. it basically gives you another 50% dmg reduction if it happens you get low. this is very nice to have. when you whirlwind u have 40% dmg reduc + striding giant which is 50% dmg reduction (wrath). this just makes you theoretically immortal. not to mention solo grift with unity with SPLITS all dmg. this can be much better then superstition.

Nerves of steel : it gotta be said, using this is just a fail safe. nothing else. and its probably a bit over the top. this just makes immortal even more immortal. 5th passive can hugely help you like this. it just puts a cockblock on all other classes mixed with these kinds of dmg reductions.

Barbarians have a huge good arsenal of passives for WW barbs. (Immortal king maybe to)

Phew, crazy right? so many options in this build! and there are even more options with gems! Lets take a look :

Gogok of Swiftness : This is kind of a must have for my opinion. Atk speed is needed for the dust devils. it scales with atk speed. CD reduction for making wrath go back to us faster.

Taeguk : Again this is a must have in my opinion. Not only for the %dmg increase but also for the armor increase. if you have a lvl 40 gem this is very OP.

Pain Enhancer : a dot. this is kinda low. but this applies to your rend which makes it tick fairly high. but we want the other buff from this. the frenzy. which makes your atkspeed faster again. i guess i could see this being replaced with something else.

Alternatives or might be better :

Bane of the trapped : I dont know about this. this build is a huge AOE build and fair at single target (ancients deal regular dmg + all the buffs makes it much better then the old gay charge build) i guess at the rift guardian it might be better. but thats just a maybe.

Esoteric alternation : Ye, talk about more dmg reduction right? crazy another good dmg reduction gem just to make it even easier to survive. this is not really needed. only if u dont have the toughness for it. but otherwise, not really.

Molten wildebeast's gizzard : Now this is a very solid choice. it has a high regen. but getting life per fury spend on the weapon and belt. and on some items might make it a bit overkilll. but i am not entirely sure. but this is a very good gem. get it 35 and u have amazing regen.

Bane of the powerfull : i dont recommend this. it has no benefit. its just another dmg buff for adds that pain enhancer easily outdo.

Again guys alot of options and choice! lets take a last look at paragons before i talk about the syle and gameplay and how to play this properly.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Core : Movement speed (25% max so dont overdo you cant go higher) > Primary Stat if u you have above 475k hp. > Vitality if below 475k > Max resource.

Offense : Attack speed ! MUST HAVE ! > Critical Hit chance ( get to 47.50 ) > Critical hit damage ( 340% ) > CDR because you cant afford any dmg loss in this build. not with this build and dont forget. because your single target is not amazing.

Defense : Resist all > Armor > Life > Life regen This is entirely your choice at high end gear really. dont take this to seriously.

Utility : Resource cost Reduction > Life on Hit > Area damage > Gold find.

Now we can finally get to the style / gameplay !

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Style : This is a oldschool whirlwind style. this used to be the best build for barbs back in the day. it just crushed what is now MP10 in that time. people that were over 250.000 dmg could do this easily! this is also fun because its a very fast style. i get 80%+ mov speed while doing this.

How to play :

The goal here is to make as much tornado's as you can. they are powerfull and do a shit ton of AOE. its fantastic.

But there is a danger in high grifts. which this build is based on countering perfectly. Movement speed ! that's this is the key. because of the shit elements elites use and when u do grift 40+ they are extremely painfull. tornados are mid ranged so you can avoid it for alot of times and minimize the damage taken. however DO NOT keep whirlwinding in circles. because the tornados go behind you to forward. so when you keep making circles it will go outside the boss. but you can do this when its full of mobs.

Now, Life on fury spent / life per hit / regen are a crucial part. because things are painfull we can easily recover with this. getting Life per fury spent on the immortal king is essential to have . its like 3k+ and whirlwind costs 10 fury. so you get 3k per 1 fury. 30k for 10.

there is 1 more thing i like to point out. i recommend for you to keep running straight lines against a rift guardian. just go left to right or whatever. because the tornados will reach the boss and just keep hitting it. i have like 900k base dmg which is really low. and i hit over 80M already. my weapon is like 3400 dmg. its stupidly low.

Oh, i almost forgot ! i forgot rend! let me explain the certain rune. 10% dmg from all sources. YES gimme that all other runes are completely shit compared to this. dont try to compare it. and this is how you can workaround the cooldown on wrath ! in every wrath run use this 3-5 times. and you can just permawrath the shit out of the rift. depends on your CDR.
