Basiclly you want as much +cold and chance to freeze on hit as posible. There are several ways how the item build can go and have in mind that I havent really tested all this yet and have made this build via my own diablo 3 experiance.

Head

  • Andariel's Visage - For how the build is ment to play this is the perfect helmet with the poison nova also giving you bonus damage and +cold skill dmg.
  • Dark Mage's Shade - This is an good choice if you find yourself too squishy (even if frozen you still are in the middle of a bunch of monsters).
  • The Magistrate - This is an decent item to have if you use Frost Hydra instead of Teleport or Frost nova.

Shoulder

  • Aughild's Power - One of the three slots where we can use an item from this set. The set bonus is lovely, epecially against elites.
  • Pauldrons of the Skeleton King - Something like Dark Mage's Shade. Use if you die a lot and you get a chance to survive.

Amulet

  • Tal Rasha's Allegiance - Has CHD and we want the set bonuses.
  • Countess Julia's Cameo - What more to say? Use if killed by arcane sentries too often.
  • Moonlight Ward - This item... I'll be honest, I never once found it so I have no experiance with it. But by what I read up it should work lovely with this build.

Torso

  • Tal Rasha's Relentless Pursuit - Set bonus, check
  • Aughild's Rule - Same as before one of three places where we can use it.

Wrist

  • Strongarm Bracers - Bonus damage after each Black Hole use.
  • Aughild's Search - Bam....another set bonus.

Hands

  • Frostburn - Some people love it, some hate it. The usefulness can be argued sure, but I like to have it as an primary becouse of the +cold skills dmg, nuff said.
  • St. Archew's Gage - An good defensive item, use if you feel like you're too squishy.
  • Vyr's Grasping Gauntlets - A good choice, has CHC and if you want can use with pants to get additional intelligence.

Waist

  • Tal Rasha's Brace - Set bonus.....strikes yet agin!
  • The Witching Hour - Bonus CHD? Why, yes please! Anywas If you manage to get Tal rashas set bonuses otherwise I recommend using this.
  • String of Ears - Reduces damage from malee attacks. Use if too squishy.... (If you've taken all the ''use if squishy'' items by now you've prolly made an panzer tank by now).

Legs

  • Pox Flauds - BAM! More bonus damage without lifting a finger.
  • Vyr's Fantastic Finery - Take if yah want the intelligence bonus.

Feet

  • Ice Climbers - Preventing them pesky frozen elites from immobilising you? Yes please!
  • Vyr's Swaggering Stance - Intelligence bonus..... yet again.
  • Fire Walkers - Some bonus damage.... usefull one? Not really.... I mean you ain't moveing around much for it to aplly.... Still looks cool :D

Rings

  • Stone of Jordan - +cold skill dmg AND +vs elite dmg? Hell yeah. Mandatory.
  • Ring of Royal Grendeur - As popular as ever, use if you want the set bonuses.... i know you do....
  • Bul-Katho's Wedding Band - CHD, damages enemies and heals you, use instead of RoRG if you aren't going for set bonuses.

Weapons (Finally the good stuff!)

In my head there are three clear choices.

  • Azurewrath - +cold skill damage AND chance to freeze enemies, an awsome item for this build!
  • Rimeheart - 10% chance on hit to instantly deal 10000% weapon damage as Cold to enemies that are Frozen. Well we are going to freeze enemies as much as possible so this might be an good alternative or use this if you like it better.
  • Serpent's Sparker - Just as The Magistrate head item, this is an decent item to have if you use Frost Hydra instead of Teleport or Frost nova.

Offhand

  • Winter Flurry - Enemies killed by Cold damage have a 15–20% chance to release a Frost Nova. Awsome and is great with Rimeheart aswel.
  • Tal rasha's - If you're missing an item for an set bonus and don't have any of the above...
  • The Oculus - ....More teleport?

Build Guide

Hey guys, this is the 1st time that I'm posting an build, you've been warned.

So basiclly I wanted a build that would fairly damage enemies keep me alive AND immobilize the enemy.

I think that with decent items this build does that job splendedly.

To keep it simple heres how I play it:

1. Cast black hole on a group of enemies (Black hole pulls them)

2. Teleport in the middle (Calamity stunns them)

3. Cast Frost Nova (Frozen)

4. Cast/channel Ray of Frost.

If the enemy is tougher just keep recasting frost nova and teleport as they're CD goes away.

Keeping in mind that if you use Frostburn and Azurewrath Ray of Frost itself should keep a few enemies frozen aswell.

This build is good vs groups of enemies BUT IS week vs solo enemy....unless you manage to have your arcane power regeneration very high!

Hope to get feedback and comments from you guys and most of all hope you like and enjoy the build if you decide to try it out :)
