Frame rate drop from 40FPS to 15FPS

  • Recently reset my d3 settings back to default trying to fix some issues on my computer and my once 40FPS is now @ 15FPS no matter what settings I set everything too. Any ideas how to fix the low FPS issue?

  • Femoris,

If all you did was change your Diablo III settings and the game started going slower, we'll need to know what settings were changed.

It might help if you posted your Documents\Diablo III\D3Prefs.txt file along with your Diablo III\X64\D3Debug.txt file. Note that these are in different Diablo III folders, not the same one.
  • Femoris,

Change this line in the D3Prefs.txt file

    DisplayModeRefreshRate "40"

    to

    DisplayModeRefreshRate "60"

    this one

    DisplayModeWindowMode "0"

    to

    DisplayModeWindowMode "1"

    and this one

    HardwareClass "4"

    to

    HardwareClass "2"

Save the file and retest the game
