  • I just tested the new 6-piece bonus

    The 2-piece bonus is alot fun to play.

    4&6-Piece:
    The problem of these bonuses is the hit radius of dashing strike. It's such a small path line, that almost no enemy will be hit and anyway it's more used as utility.

    Additional "bug":
    when you are out of dash-charges (6-piece), you cannot charge again for 50 spirit until the cooldown of 1 charge went off

    This discussion went in the clear direction of DS beeing a bad choice for the main focus of this set, since it's more of a utility ability.
    Better options are Sweeping Winds, Seven Sided Strike, or even Cyclone Strike, wich synergy much better with this set.

    suggestion for bonuses:
    4 piece: sweeping wind deals 300% (maybe more) damage
    6 piece: sweeping wind releases a nova dealing 1500% damage in 10 yards [main element]

    I think Sweeping Wind, Cyclone Strike or even SSS could've went with the set better than DS tbh, SW and Cyclone Strike doesn't interrupt the 2pc usage as much as DS and removing the animation for SSS would be a whole lot smoother....

    For every other build DS is used for Utility, I don't really understand the obsession with using this skill when there's other choices; it's like trying to make Teleport or Steed Charge work as a set really.

    Tl;dr
    DS is used for Utility.
    Try using Sweeping Wind, Cyclone Strike, or Seven-Sided Strike (or any other ability).
    The ability(s) used should work with the 2pc.

    I wanted to take the time to thank you all for the feedback as well as give a little insight on our design intent for Raiment of a Thousand Storms.

    When we think about the Monk, we think about a fast punching, hard hitting, quick and agile fighter. Raiment of a Thousand Storms aims to fulfill this fantasy by increasing the damage and attack speed of his Spirit Generators and turning Dashing Strike into a Spirit spender that does quite a bit of damage. The playstyle that has worked well internally is to pool up Spirit and do considerable damage with your Spirit Generators, then dump your Spirit and do a huge burst of damage by dashing back and forth until you cannot Dashing Strike anymore (or the enemies are dead). To better support this playstyle, we are going to be swapping the 4 and 6 piece set bonuses in a future PTR patch. We may also make further tweaks to the set.

    I also wanted to thank everyone for pointing out that the 2 piece set bonus was additive. That was an oversight on my part and, as Xuen pointed out, has been hotfixed on the PTR as of this morning.

    I look forward to hearing your feedback on the playstyle that Raiment of a Thousand Storms is supposed to bring, as well as any feedback about other clever playstyles with the set that may be more effective.
