Error Codes 10017 and 316708. Cannot play

  • After a recent disconnect from the server caused by my ISP, I attempted to reconnect to the Diablo III servers.

I joined the Open Game my friend was in. After a minute-long pause where nothing happened and I was prevented from leaving the party, I was given Error Code 316708.

After attempting to create my own game, I got Error Code 10017 which told me I had too many channels open.

    Things I have tried

    1. Restarting the Diablo III client.
    2. Restarting the Battle.net client.
    3. Deleting my Blizzard Entertainment folder in C:\ProgramData
  • Hello,

Would it be possible to try completely turning your router off for five minutes, then reconnect it then see if you can get back in-game?

  • Can you try logging into a different region, then back into the one you're trying to play in, see if that does anything?

  • Can you try just changing the password on your account? That'll force an account update, so I'm hoping after that it'll correctly recognise that your European licence is offline.

  • Are you able to create a new character and create a new game with that Clbull?
