Torment 2+ feedback

  • After the anounce, that Blizzard want feedback about Torment 2+ I spent some time for rifts, bountys and UBRS. Mostly T2 and T3 with some tests at T4+.

    First of it is not so hard to survive T4-T6 with Wizard, Monk or WichDoc. Even a Crusader can survive it but he need alot more afford into gear then the other 3 classes (@Blizzard, I still belive Crusader should get at last 15% build in damage reduction if not the 30% from Monk/Barb). On the other hand I was unable to find any build/gear to get my DH into T2 or higher.

    All DHs I saw in T2+ used Demon Machine x-bows!

    While it wasn't a big problem to survive with 3(4) classes it was a big problem to do enough damage to be somewhat effizient above T3.

    I have two pritty easy rules for myslef:
    - If I can kill a solo Goblin before he escape I have enough DPS for this difficulty ;).
    - If I can kill a Gobo in the middle of 30 trash mobs, it's time to get into a higher difficulty :).

    Following this rules I found paper-DPS numbers which might help others:
    Torment1: 400k-600k paper-DPS in char screen
    Torment2: 600k-800k paper-DPS in char screen
    Torment3: 800k-1000k paper-DPS in char screen
    and here the problem start
    T4 would be 1000k-1200k
    T5 would be 1200k-1400k
    T6 would be 1400k-1600k

    Before someone attack this numbers I might have to clarify them a bit!
    If you go with only 400k paper-DPS and no xx% skill/elementel damage items into Torment 1 you will have a very hard time and out of 100 Goblins you might kill 1 or 2 with some luck! But this 400k paper-DPS is good enough to kill most champ packs and bosses without enrage timers (Belial or the Butcher will eat you!).
    With 600k paper-DPS you are on the save side for Torment1 but most people will not see it as "effizient" as you don't 1-shot stuff! You will have a good speed and most rifts will be done in less then 30 minutes.

    So how about Torment 3 and my sugested 800k-1000k paper-DPS?
    Well, this isn't a clear number allready as 1000k paper-DPS isn't easy to reach allready. You need a very good weapon and good rolls for your other items. BUT it can be done with only yellow items! It is posible with some afford ;).
    What's more like is, that you will stay at 800k paper-DPS but increased your true-DPS by useing alot of xx% skill/elementel-damage items which isn't shown in the char-screen.
    REQUEST: Can you please add this xx% numbers to the char-screen Blizzard?
    REQUEST2: Add this xx% directly to the quickbar together with cooldown/resurce cost reduction

    The true problem start with Torment 4++
    It is currently not posible to reach enough paper-DPS to do Torment 4+ without using any exploids, well known overpowert Items or bugs!
    Sure, you can nibble stuff down. But it will not be fun or anywhere near "effizent".

    I see the problem at the monster-HP which are still balanced around old F&F-weapons with far over 3000 DPS for onehanders and even more for twohanders including the crushing-blow which was removed very fast.

    Well, what do you know? This is one of the ways I happen use to help determine what difficulty I should be in. :)
