PTR Status: Online

  • Update - 9/26/12 9:30 a.m. PDT:

We have resolved a number of issues affecting player account creation and login. At this time, we believe that most players should be able to download, install, and then access the PTR without any issue. If you are continuing to experience issues using the PTR, please keep posting in this thread. Thank you!

    Update - 9/24/12 4:30 p.m. PDT:

The PTR is now online and available for play. We're aware that many players are still experiencing persistent issues affecting login and character creation, but we'll be keeping the PTR online for the time being so that we can test and troubleshoot those issues in a live environment. Please be sure to report any problems you encounter in this thread so we can pass them on to our development team as quickly as possible. As always, since this is a test server, uneven performance is expected and downtime may occur without warning.

Thank you so much for your patience! We look forward to hearing your feedback.

    Update - 9/24/12 3:40 p.m. PDT:

We'll be bringing the PTR online around 3:45 p.m. PDT in a test capacity to see if players are able to successfully log in and create/copy characters. If all goes well, we'll keep the PTR online and everyone can start testing out the new content. If we still see that players are experiencing issues, we may bring the PTR offline again to continue troubleshooting. Either way, we'll keep you posted and will provide updates in this thread as they become available.

    9/22/12

We will be bringing the PTR offline for the weekend in order to troubleshoot issues affecting PTR account creation, character creation, and login. While this is only public test (the first for Diablo III) and uneven game performance is expected, we want to make sure that the experience is as smooth and stable as possible. It's going to take some extra work on our end to make that happen, and the PTR will need to be offline while we make our updates.

Thank you so much to everyone who submitted reports about the problems you experienced. We'll be working diligently over the next few days to resolve as much as we can and get the PTR back online so you can test and provide feedback on patch 1.0.5.

We'll provide another update on Monday (PDT), but we don't have an ETA at this time for when the PTR will be available.

Looking for an update with a date :)

No status update to share at the moment, but as soon as there is an update, we'll be sure to provide it in this thread. We're still working through some issues which affect the # of players who can be logged in to the PTR at the same time, and we'd like to get those resolved before we bring everything back up.

We'll keep that top line updated with the current status of the PTR. :)
  • We'll be bringing the PTR online around 3:45 p.m. PDT (so, in about 5 minutes) as a test to see if players are able to successfully log in and create/copy characters. If all goes well, we'll keep the PTR online and everyone can start testing the new content. If we still see that players are experiencing issues, we may bring the PTR offline again to continue troubleshooting. Either way, I'll keep you posted. :)
  • The PTR is now online and available for play. That said, we're definitely aware that many players are still experiencing persistent issues affecting login and character creation. We'll be keeping the PTR online for the time being so that we can test and troubleshoot those issues in a live environment, so please be sure to report any problems you encounter in this thread so we can pass them on to our development team as quickly as possible.

Thank you so much for your patience, and your reports. This is ultimately why we have a PTR, so we can identify and correct these kinds of issues early, before they hit the live game. :)
  • We have resolved a number of issues affecting account creation and login. At this time, we believe that most players should be able to download, install, and then access the PTR without any issue. If you are continuing to experience issues using the PTR client, creating an account, or creating/copying characters, please keep posting in this thread. Thank you!

  • We're still looking into Error 12 and Error 82, by the way. I don't have any updates to share about our progress, but we definitely know that players are still getting those errors and we're working to resolve them as quickly as possible.
  • PTR is currently in maintenance right now. I'll be creating a separately thread shortly for Error 12 and crashing-to-desktop issues. :)
